ILLUSTRATION

Virtues (cathedral windows) / Client: St. Vitus

I LOVE TO DRAW MORE THAN ANYTHING. The core of my career, I have worked across every industry, platform, and medium you can think of, though I have a special soft spot for publishing, editorial, and figurative/portraiture.

My work employs striking colours and though I prefer analog media when possible, I often employ current digital illustration platforms to provide clients with the most flexible options. The human hand and high craft/skill form the core of my drawing ethos; let’s talk about AI: how it’s used, if it can truly be implemented ethically, and whether you really want to go down that road.

In some form or another be it sketchbook, illustration, or fine artwork the thing I keep coming back to is portraiture. I find the greatest satisfaction in finding the essence of someone’s likeness, what I find to be the greatest drawing challenge. Sometimes this is done just for practice, others by commission, and then for client illustration purposes (either meant to celebrate or satire certain figures.)

STORY- BOARDING & Animation AssetS

I enjoy finding the flow between each line of a script and bringing form to the world in which your idea lives. For animation, I build the pieces needed to build top-tier motion work in collaboration with dedicated animators (or on my own!) For film, I can be on set, working with photographers or videographers as an Art Director making sure we get just the right shot, being handy to whip up a last-second prop design or ad-libbed line.
